Yes we know the 2011 Supercross Champion and Motocross Champion has been crowned. Yes we know the Motocross of Nations is over and Ryan Villopoto won all of the above. But it’s not over yet!

Ryan Villopoto and many others will try to win a 1 million dollar bonus at the Monster Energy Cup just a few weeks away on October 15. The event will be like no other ever held. The Monster Energy Cup will be held at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas and will feature 3 motos on a hybrid motocross and supercross style track. Jeremy McGrath and Ricky Carmichael  have been involved in designing the track. Chances are this will be epic. So, don’t put away your dirt bike gear yet! Stay tuned for more info from our writing team on this event!

Tony Stewart did it again. Stewart is now 2 for 2 on NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase races. Team 14 won again by stretching the fuel mileage and out lasting Clint Bowyer.

The former USAC Triple Champion and IRL Champion now holds the points lead over Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski. Tony Stewart did not win in the first 26 event of the season and “squeaked,” into the Chase field on points. Stewart’s fortune has changed for the better and things are looking up going into the Dover event next week. Can Tony hold on for Championship #3? We always like to get excited over racers that started off racing on the dirt and wearing an off road helmets.

Have we mentioned how much fun we have sitting in the loft writing about motorsports, hot girls, and playing with motocross toys. We have all the riders in Series 11 and 12 which include Jeremy McGrath, Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart, Carey Hart,  Chad Reed, and Travis Pastrana. We are have also considered buying the Metal Mulisha toy dirt bikes that include Brian Deegan and Jeremy Stenberg.

Maybe were just bored, or maybe these things are just really cool.

Getting it Right

Official time out from blog posts about motorsports, dirt bike gear, and dirt bike toys.

So we know that this year Sebastian Vettel and Ryan Villopoto are in the process of having an successful years. There are very few times in life when an individual can “get it right,” week after week. 2011 has also been a great year for singer Katy Perry. Perry tied records held by Michael Jackson this year. There is another 2011 success story we also want to talk about.

T-Mobile’s advertising campaign will stick in our minds as being a great success. Carly Foulkes and her variety of pink dresses will forever have us thinking fondly of cell phone service from the 4th largest service provider in the US. Yes, we bought T-Mobile phones this year. I’m sure Miss Foulkes will go on to do other spots on TV in the future that are much better then her current gig. For now, we just know her as the Hot T-Mobile Chick.

Jill Wagner had Ford Mercury campaign in 2006. This beautiful spokesmodel has also moved on. We watch the game show “Wipeout,” for big wipeouts and for Jill Wagner. Sometimes you just get it right!

NASCAR Chase Surprise

Just as Ryan Villopoto put down his motocross jersey after walkingaway with the AMA Motocross title with relative ease, the longest season in motorsports gets real exciting. Crossover driver Tony Stewart took the win in the opening round of the Sprint Cup Chase. The win for the former USAC Triple Champion and IRL Champion but him in the middle of the championship battle.

Stewart jumped from 10th to 2nd in the Chase points. The next race on the Chase schedule is at a track the Stewart has already been successful at this season. Stewart and teammate Ryan Newman finished 1,2 earlier this year. Is Stewart now a favorite to take his 3rd Sprint Cup Championship?

The Winter Months

September 24, 2011

After spending most of this year following racing of all forms in 2011, the winter months are just around the corner. The winter months put the freeze on most racing series. NASCAR, and F1 will crown their champions in November. It is then time to wait…… Wait for January 1st and the opening events of 2012 that include the Dakar Rally, AMA Supercross and The Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.

Or is it?

This winter probikehelmets.com will attempt to field cars in the 2011-2012 Red Bluff indoor Outlaw Kart Series. We will take a break from covering motorsports and talking about dirt bike gear and take to the track ourselves. Look for our writers to make some laps this winter. We will keep you posted on our results.

TORC at Chicagoland

The TORC series kicked off the NASCAR weekend at Chicagoland Speedway on Wednesday night. The show was a good one to say the least. Ricky Johnson and Johnny Greaves went toe to toe lap after lap in an exciting battle. Ricky Johnson came out on top in the Pro 4 division with Greaves second.

In the Pro 2 class series points leader Bryce Menzies won the event increasing his points lead. NASCAR star and former off road truck stand out Brendan Gaughan took fifth in the Wednesday event while Lucas Oil invader Rob MacCachren took 9th.

In the Pro Light race RJ Anderson won the event but there was a familiar name in 6th. Mr. James Stewart added his name to the list of stand out 2 wheel racers making appearances at 4 wheel events. Not a bad showing.

We hope to see Stewart trade in his motocross helmet for an off-road helmet at the next TORC event combined with a NASCAR weekend at the Texas Motor Speedway in October.

The Motorsports models of the world have been out in force all year. Whether its the Formula 1 grid girls, Rockstar Girls at Motocross, or the super hot NOS energy drink girls at Formula Drift events, they always make the weekend a little better.

Here’s a shout out to all the hot girls holding umbrellas and grid signs this year. Hope to see more of them in 2012. Dirt Bike Gear isn’t the only thing we can talk about!

Motocross of Nations 2011

Team USA won again at the motocross of Nations this past weekend. The team comprised of Ryan Dungey, Ryan Villopoto, and Blake Baggett waited until the final moto to take the win. This is the 7th time in a row that Team USA has won the event. Strong team showings were turned in by Team France and Team Australia. Team Farance earned second place with team members, Christophe Pourcel, Marvin Musquin, and Gautier Paulin. Australia took third with top riders Chad Reed, and Bret Metcalfe.

Team USA lead by Roger DeCoster took their dirt bike gear to the front once again. Once again, it wasn’t easy. Chad Reed won moto 1, with Ken Roczen second. Moto 2 saw Gautier Paulin win with Jeffrey Herlings of the Netherlands in second and Ryan Villopoto third. It wasn’t until moto 3 that Villopoto won and Dungey took second clinching the team overall win.

The event was very competitive, and the track very challenging. Moto 1 saw wet weather which was perfect for Ken Roczen and Chad Reed. Can the US make it 8 in a row in 2012.

After a serious injury in 2010, Ryan Villopoto comes back to take 2 championships this year on his Kawasaki. RV did not win the final event in Pala, but he didn’t have to.

Villopoto wraps up the season with a 1/3 at Pala which was enough to stay ahead of Ryan Dungey in the Championship. Villopoto will proudly wear the #1 plate when Supercross opens in 2012. For now, RV can set down his motocross helmet and relax, for a little while. Las Vegas money race and Motocross of Nations is up next!
