Motocross is a competitive field. Only the best make it to the top of the heap and collect the spoils of their hard work. Only the greatest are remembered for ever.
Motocross gear is just as competitive. There are many manufactuers of top quality motocross gear. If your in the market for motocross gear, always do the required research. The photo above may help. Just to get you in the right frame of mind.
The ultimate crossover driver Tony Stewart will get to check another task off his list on June 14th. Stewart, the USAC Silver Crown, Midget, and Sprint Car champ from 1995, IRL Champ in 1997, Sprint Cup Champion in 2002 and 2005, and IROC Champion in 2006 will take hot laps in a Formula 1 car on June 14th at Watkins Glen.
2008 Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton will also get a chance of a lifetime by taking hot laps in a Stewart-Haas Sprint Cup car. The two racers are going to swap rides for a day thanks to sponsor Mobil 1.
Both drivers are excited about the opportunity given to them. We hope to see Stewart adapt to the F1 car just like Jeff Gordon did in 2003. Gordon swapped rides in 03 with then F1 racer Juan Pablo Montoya. Gordon cut a lap that was only 1.3 seconds slower than JPM’s best lap that day.
Also in a busy month of June Stewart will also host The Prelude to the Dream dirt late model charity event June 8th. The only cars left for Stewart to run is a Baja 1000 trophy truck and a prototype in ALMS. You know we’d love to see Tony put on some off road gloves in a Trophy Truck!
Motorsports superstar and extreme sports icon Travis Pastrana made a big move in his life this weekend at the MGM in Las Vegas. Not only did he take part in an unbelievable Nitro Circus performance, but he asked his girlfriend to marry him. Lyn-z Adams Hawkins said yes. Hawkins is a pro skater who also participated in the Nitro Circus event.
Now does this all make sense? Travis Pastrana is begining a NASCAR career, something that is much safer then his current occupation. Is he taking off the motocross boots in order to be a husband that will live past 30? No matter what the motivation, congrats to both Travis and Lyn-z.
Richard Childress and Kyle Busch had a little skirmish after Saturday Night’s Truck race. Childress was said to have Busch in a head lock and punched him multiple times before throwing him to the ground. Childress was upset over multiple in track incidents between Childress drivers and Busch.
Childress may receive fines or penalties for the altercation. News of the penalties against Childress should come out Tuesday just before Busch puts on an off road helmet to race in the Prelude to the Dream charity race.
Robby Gordon exchanged his normal NASCAR gear for off road gear this weekend. Gordon ran his Speed Energy Hummer to a 5th place finish at the Baja 500. Bryce Menzies won the 500 in the Trophy Truck class and overall.
Gordon gave a good effort but came up just 14 minutes short of a win. Gordon did have success promoting Speed Energy Drink over the weekend. Wal-Mart in Ensenada put Speed Energy on it’s shelves!
If you havent had your fill of motorsports yet, get ready of the Baja 500! This weekend June 3-5th is the 43rd SCORE Baja 500. This is the 3rd race of the SCORE racing season.
Robby Gordon will bring his off road gloves, and plenty of Speed Energy Drink to Mexico to attempt to win the desert classic. Gordon says he may run his Dakar Rally prepared Hummer for the Baja 500 and leave the trophy truck at home. Gordon says he can finish the Baja 500 on 1 single tank of fuel in the Hummer! And Gordon says the Hummer can reach speeds of 165 MPH versus the Trophy Truck that tops out at 135MPH!
Either way, best of luck to Robby Gordon. The guy who does everything his way, and does it well. Did I mention he’s also living my dream!
